Many Christian parents do not understand the dangers that technology poses (i.e. TV, Games Consoles, Smart Phones).  Few spend time to see what their child are watching or doing.  Especially Christian parents that comes from a foreign country where technology is not so prevalent, the language barrier between parents and children is an even greater contributing factor.  A lot of times parent are so caught up in the stress of life such and work managing bills, caring for the family that the just allow their children to go watch tv, go on the web or play video games, so they don’t have to be bothered.  What then don’t realize is by doing so, they inadvertently give them consent to all things and behaviors the see, learn on TV, and all activities and actions that they perform on Video Games.  This is a great risk because if the child is lacking in the spirit of Jesus-Christ they may succumb to all that they’ve learn on their devices, becoming rebellious not only to their parent but also to God, in worst case even rejecting God altogether.

Satan is the enemy of God and that makes him an enemy of those in God’s likeness, especially to his followers who are obedient to his ways, Christians and Jewish.  He will use any and, all, means necessary to open our mind to wickedness, lust, fornication, uncleanness, covetousness, envy, idolatry, inordinate affections, and evil.  He wants us to be numb and oblivious to these things as if there are natural. He will do this casually and deceptively thru our desires and need for self-gratification and pleasure.  As Satan and his followers increase the numbers of those who follow his ways, he will be blatant and obvious.

There are several bible verses that guides us on how we should conduct ourselves:

So flee youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart.

2 Timothy

Abstain from every form of evil.

1 Thessalonians ESV

Turn my eyes from looking at worthless things; and give me life in your ways.

Psalm 119:37 ESV

Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them.

Ephesians 5:11 ESV

Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. Therefore, do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.

Ephesians 5:15-17 ESV
